Costumes & Costume Changers
Costumes will be in your possession after rehearsal today. Their accessories (head pieces, etc) will remain with the studio until recital time. Please do not let your child play with their costume during this week. Keep them hung up in the garment bags supplied. If your child is in more than one dance, there will be a note on your garment bag as to who their changer is, what costume to arrive in and any other pertinent information. We have also supplied you with a large ziploc bag. This is to be used for their dance shoes and possibly hair elastics, brush, bobby pins, etc.
LABEL IT AND PLACE IT INSIDE THE GARMENT BAG WITH THEIR COSTUME.
We do not want any dance bags or back packs handed to the costume changers. Please keep any outerwear in your possession. We also request that they wear something simple to change back into after they have finished their dances.
Dress Rehearsal
Dress rehearsal will be held THURSDAY MAY 8TH at Ridley College, in the Mandeville Theatre. The rehearsal will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. Dress Rehearsal will be a closed rehearsal. No guests please. We will be running through the entire show in costume. Please bring your children into the auditorium and locate the area posted for your child’s recital section. We will organize the children into their classes and escort them to where they need to be. Once their section has been completed, and you hear our instructions for recital day you will be free to go.
Please plan travel time accordingly.

REVIEW FOR INTERMEDIATE & SENIOR CLASSES

PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES EARLIER THAN YOUR CHILD’S
SCHEDULED REHEARSAL TIME AS WE MIGHT RUN FASTER THAN EXPECTED.
ONCE YOUR CHILD’S SECTION IS DONE, THEY ARE FREE TO GO!

Recital
Dance Gala 2025 will commence 7:00PM sharp BOTH evenings.
All Act One dancers must arrive no later than 6:30 pm
If your child is only in Act Two they may arrive no later than 7:30 pm.
Once you have dropped off your children, you must then go back into the lobby and wait for the doors to open. No one will be allowed into the theatre until the doors open, which is approximately 30 minutes prior to show time.
YOU MUST HAVE A PHYSICAL PAPER TICKET TO ENTER AND/OR RE-ENTER THE AUDITORIUM.

We begin announcements and Oh Canada, 5 minutes before the show begins. If you are late, the ushers will not admit you until an appropriate break in the show, which could mean missing your own child’s dance. So please plan your travel time accordingly!
If you have purchased a ticket for your “dancer” to sit in the audience, please make sure they have them in hand when they are dropped off. At the top of the stairs leading to the greenroom will be a table, where your child will remit their ticket and get their wrist stamped. They will then be escorted downstairs to the green room by our older students.

NO PARENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE IN THE GREENROOM OR CHANGEROOM AREA UNLESS THEY ARE A VOLUNTEER. JUST AS ON PICTURE DAY, IT WILL MAKE FOR A MUCH SMOOTHER RUN SHOW… WE APPRECIATE YOUR CO-OPERATION IN THIS MATTER.
While your children are waiting to perform, they will be well taken care of by our older students, assistants and teachers.
Cameras, Cell Phones and Video Equipment
ABSOLUTLEY NO RECORDING OR PHOTOGRAPHY WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE PERFORMANCES.
Pulling out your phone or camera during the performance is disruptive and disrespectful to both the dancers on stage and those around you.
Bright screens can easily ruin the experience for audience members and break the concentration of the performers. The dancers can see the audience clearly from the stage which means glowing screens are extremely visible. Ushers have been instructed to stop anyone with phones up to video. Let's stop watching our kids through screens and enjoy the live performance!

Intermission Pick Ups
If your “dancer(s)” will not be joining the audience, they will be escorted back downstairs to the greenroom, after they have finished on stage, and will wait until intermission to be picked up.
YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR CHILD AT INTERMISSION AS THERE WILL BE NO VOLUNTEERS DOWNSTAIRS DURING THE SECOND ACT.
Please have the common courtesy of waiting until intermission to vacate the auditorium, to not disturb the rest of the audience. Intermission should be approximately 8:00PM.
*Special Announcement*
The Studio @ PDC Team will be making two draws for FULL CLASS TUITION for ONE CLASS (not including reg fee or costumes) for our upcoming 2025-2026 Dance Season!
We will add all sold seat numbers for both evening performances, onto our spin to win wheel, and we will make one draw per show. The draw will take place at the close of each performance, so make sure you stay, because the only 2 conditions are you must be in attendance at the end of the
show, and also present your ticket to claim it!

Good Luck Everyone!

THEATRE ETIQUETTE
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
We kindly ask all audience members to help create a respectful and supportive environment for our dancers by following these important guidelines:
Stay seated during all performances.
Movement in the audience is highly distracting. If you absolutely must leave, please do so only between dances, during a scene change or break. Please plan ahead to avoid unnecessary movement during the show.
Keep all movement to a minimum.
Dancers work incredibly hard to stay focused during their routines. Shifting seats, getting up, or moving around can be very disruptive — and the dancers can see everyone in the audience clearly.
Silence all phones and devices before the performance begins.
Phones and devices should be put away completely. Even a screen lighting up without sound is distracting in a dark auditorium.
Absolutely no recording or photography during the performance.
The show is being professionally recorded and is available for purchase. Pulling out a phone or camera during a dance is disruptive to both the dancers and those around you. Bright screens can easily ruin the experience for others and break the concentration of the performers.
Please stay for the entire performance.
All dancers deserve a full audience and everyone's support, from the first routine to the last.
Applaud at the appropriate times!
Cheer loudly, clap proudly, and celebrate the incredible hard work and talent on display. Your encouragement means the world to our dancers.
Please remember:
Our dancers can see the audience very clearly from the stage. Every movement, conversation, and glowing screen is visible to them. Please be respectful of their dedication and effort by giving them your full, undivided attention.
